Clint's Trading Post tannery in La Riviere, Manitoba has been in operation since 1971 processing legally acquired pelts from beaver, wolf, elk, moose, bear, deer, coyote, rabbit, fox, raccoon and of course walleye. Like any tannery, both basic (caustic) and acidic slurries and solutions are employed in the process. Our effluent is strictly monitored and controlled for pH and contaminants prior to safe release into approved municipal waste treatment facilities.
All of the dyes utilized in our process are vegetable based and pose no threat to the environment.
Clint's Trading Post strictly controls the pH of our effluent at the level dictated by the municipality, and in fact, accelerates the natural digestion of the municipal waste stream.
